Apple Cider Vinegar gets such hype! I’m no exception, I drink it everyday. Partly because I know I should and partly because I actually like the flavor and it helps me drink more water. I also find it to be a great “resetting” agent for me when I have some wild sugar/food craving or digestive issues and I had NO idea why that was…. until now. Upon further research, I’ve even found the truth behind one of the primary reasons most people reach for the ACV (apple cider vinegar)… Apple Cider Vinegar could help you lose belly fat! Who? What? When? Where? Why? …my questions exactly.
Apple Cider Vinegar & Belly Fat
ACV doesn’t actually “dissolve fat” or even have a lot to offer in the way of vitamins, nutrients, or minerals. It does, however, indirectly help you absorb a lot of those things – vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and even protein.
The benefit is the acetic acid (available in other vinegars, as well). Acetic acid helps lower blood sugars by increasing the glucose uptake in your muscles. In other words, it helps you absorb sugar as more efficient fuel for the muscles. It also decreases insulin resistance, which is the real perpetrator when it comes to blocking your body’s ability to absorb nutrients. During a period of insulin resistance, your muscle cells don’t get the fuel they need from the food you’ve consumed, so your body signals the pancreas, telling it to make more insulin… aka you get fatter in the gut. A gut is basically just a sign of too much insulin. When you repair the receptor for insulin (que our friendly elixir, ACV), you lower the need for the pancreas to make more insulin and thus lower your body’s prompt to produce more insulin (hereby known as BELLY FAT).
BONUS FACTS:
What’s the Best Type to Drink?
Make sure when you purchase your ACV, your bottle specifies these 3 things; Organic, Unfiltered, With the Mother. This type will have a cloudy/dense concentration that holds the key components of the ACV. (I will link some good ones below)
A Fun Recipe to Make your Intake Easier!
Sugar-Free ACV Gummies

- 1/3 cup Apple Cider Vinegar Unfiltered, Organic, of the Mother
- 2/3 cup Filtered Water
- 2.5 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tbsp Gelatin Great Lakes, preferred
Instructions
-
In a medium pan add apple cider vinegar, filtered water, and cinnamon and bring to medium heat (not to boil).

These gummies really are tasty! They have added health benefits of blood sugar stabilizing cinnamon and collagen & protein packed gelatin (especially from a high quality brand like great lakes). There are no sugars added to this recipe as you can see so it’s just a good, if not better, than a shot of ACV.
