I’ve never been one to get all extra about my dog. When I was hosting Friendsgiving this year, 2 others were also bringing their dogs and so I felt like I needed to have a little something for the pups! So, I found this recipe that is so easy to make and makes a cute orange dough that’s super easy to roll out and form bone molds with.
Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Treats
Ingredients
- 1 egg yolk
- 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375F
-
mix the wet ingredients in a mixer with a wisk handle. Add the dry ingredients slowly until everything is fully mixed.
-
Mold the dough into one large ball. Flour your countertop and bit on a rolling pin. Roll out the ball of dough so that it's completely flat about about 1/4" thick.
-
Push dog bone molds into the flat dough and place onto a baking sheet
-
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes until the bone cookies are hard
My dog loves these but she will eat literally anything… I fed them to my mom’s picky king Charles and he loved them. Based on these simple ingredients, I think these are dog approved across the board. Not to mention, I love that I know what’s in the treats i’m feeding my pup. I try to reach for the more natural treat options without being too over the top. This recipe produces a loooot of treats and they will keep for 2 weeks in an airtight jar or for months in the freezer.
Hope your pup enjoys!
